Ping (ICMP Echo) Monitoring

Sometimes all you need is a simple ping to test connectivity. Our Ping monitor is one of the most effective ways to test network availability. From routers to DNS servers almost anything can respond to a ping.

Knowledge Front's ping monitoring is done by sending ICMP echo requests from several different locations on a configurable frequency. By performing the test from several different locations false alerts are minimized and a better base average is formed. Based on a configurable number of failures the system will alert IT personnel by SMS, voice call, or e-mail.
